The cottages which have been converted from the original 18th century sandstone farm buildings, are set round a lovely landscaped courtyard with surrounding mature gardens. Each cottage has its own private patio with garden furniture and BBQ.Wildlife is abundant here and in the adjacent wood with red squirrels, many bird species and roe deer. These warm and comfortable cottages are equipped to the highest standards and are open all year. We accept short breaks(min. 3 nights) out of season. The heated indoor pool & sauna is housed inside a cosy log cabin and is for the sole use of our guests in the cottages here. The games room has table tennis and 2 pool tables. We have 15 bicycles(free hire) for you to explore the quiet country lanes nearby.Thornhill is only half a mile away and there are many local attractions. The area has many castles and historic places including Drumlanrig Castle(only 5 miles away) which has beautiful gardens and a famous art collection.Take the scenic drive to Wanlockhead(10miles north) which is the highest village in Scotland.The stunning Solway Coast is within easy reach.Templand cottages is an ideal centre for both walkers(The Southern Upland Way is nearby) and cyclists(including mountain biking in the nearby forest of Ae). There are many golf courses in the area and the attractive one in Thornhill welcomes visitors.Horse riding facilities are available just down the lane. The River Nith provides excellent fishing for salmon and sea-trout and there are many
local lochs.Many of our visitors return to Templand cottages again and again to enjoy the tranquil beauty here
