Kincardine O'Neil itself lays claim to be the oldest village on Royal Deeside and has some lovely quiet walks right on the doorstep. There are also many other hillwalking opportunities and more sedate low-level walks through the beautiful scenery within a few minutes’ drive.
The village is ideally situated as a touring base for all Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms have to offer. It is particularly well located and suited to Angling on the world famous River Dee with some beats only 5 minutes walk from the door of the property. In terms of other potential activities the property is 30 minutes drive from Balmoral Castle and around 40 minutes into the large, modern city of Aberdeen. The lovely, quiet sandy beaches of the Aberdeenshire and Moray coasts are only an hour or so drive away. The nearest towns are Aboyne (4 miles), Banchory (9 miles) and Ballater (14 miles). Aboyne itself hosts one of the major Highland Games events annually in early August. As is typical in Scotland there are also many fine quality golf courses with around 7 located within 10 miles of the property including the aspiring championship course at Inchmarlo. In the winter months during the skiing season Kincardine O’Neil is also an ideal base for accessing the Glenshee and Lech ski complexes with both just an hours drive away.
